GPI has an exciting, entry-level opening for an Assistant Team Leader Trainee to be assigned to our recently awarded, two-year NYSDOT Overhead Sign Structure Inspection Contract. The objective of this position is to increase the proficiency of minority, women and economically disadvantaged individuals through on-the-job training.

Prospective candidates for this position should meet the following minimum credentials:

1. Associates Degree in Civil or Structural Technology from an accredited school.
2. Ability to work comfortably close to expressway traffic.
3. Ability to work comfortably in aerial bucket platforms and while climbing at heights up to 20 feet (while wearing a fall protection harness).
4. Ability to work under adverse weather conditions.
5. Corrected visual acuity of at least 20/40.
6. Ability to follow instructions and record field notes.
7. A valid NYS driving license

During the 2-year trainee term, it is expected that the trainee will gain the experience necessary to qualify as a NYSDOT sign structure inspection Assistant Team Leader.

This assignment will include some night work and may include overnight travel. It is expected that 90% of the field work will be performed within the boundaries of NYSDOT Regions 4 (Rochester), 5 (Buffalo) and 6 (Hornell).
