What: As April marks Child Abuse Prevention Month, BestSelf is proud to announce the unveiling of our annual Pinwheel Garden, a poignant symbol of hope and healing for survivors of child sexual abuse, violence, and trauma.
Located on the lawn of 768 Delaware Ave, the team from BestSelf will be planting a pinwheel garden featuring 3,000 pinwheels, each representing a child who reported abuse in Erie County. These vibrant pinwheels serve as a visual reminder of the impact of child abuse and neglect on our community, emphasizing the urgent need for prevention and intervention efforts.
“We believe every child deserves to receive the best possible treatment when these terrible acts occur,” said Elizabeth Woike-Ganga, President and CEO of BestSelf Behavioral Health. “Our Pinwheel Garden is a powerful symbol of our commitment to protecting children and ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.”
The community is invited to visit the Pinwheel Garden throughout April to reflect on the impact of child abuse and join us in our mission to create a safer, healthier future for all children.
