Poetry
By: Victor Sotomayor
Tick… tick… tick… tick…
Tension in the air
clouds approaching
They shift and take shape
a storm this way comes
long overdue
tick, tick, tick, tick
Tickin’ time bomb
about to burst
in the heart of the City of Angels
amid poverty and misery
there lies a tickin’ time bomb
about to burst
patiently waiting
for the right elements
been waiting forever it seems
until it can no longer becontained
until enough blood has been shed on the concrete
Africa’s blood spilt over the pavement
on the corner of Wall Street and Fifth
San Julian Park mourns another loss
tick, tick, tick, tick, TICK, TICK, TICK
I hear the tick tack of the
tickin’ time bomb
getting louder and louder
each passing minute
I just cannot ignore it any longer
I cannot look the other way
Like I’ve done in the past
I can’t take it anymore!
The tickin’ of my beating heart
joins the heart of those silenced,
marginalized, forgotten, ignored
those who have been set aside
under the rug
for the vultures and the flies…
TICK…
TICK…
TICK…
TICK…
I can’t negate my beating heart
nor the beating of the drums
nor the cries for help
that nobody will hear…
TICK. TICK. TICK. TICK
The storm is here
dark clouds sit atop the skyscrapers
of the City of Angels…
Any minute now… any minute…
TICK. TICK. TICK. (Heartbeats)
This poem was inspired by the victims of Police Brutality in City of Los Angeles and everywhere in the USA.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron – May 1st.
The Avengers must assemble to combat the threat of Ultron! When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Per comic books lore, Ultron is an artificial intelligence created by the original Ant-Man, Dr. Henry Pym. Ultron tries to destroy his creator — and humanity — and goes on to create an android named The Vision. Vision initially attacks the Avengers at Ultron’s behest but later becomes a member of the team.
Tomorrowland- May 22.
The film is about a teenage girl (Casey Newton), a genius middle-aged man (Frank Walker), and a pre-pubescent girl robot (Raffey Cassidy) who attempts to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save the world
Originally described as being in the vein of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1970s movie about a man searching for extra-terrestrial life on Earth. Writer/producer Damon Lindelof has since said the film will not center on extraterrestrials
George Clooney plays “a brilliant inventor involved in the Tomorrowland project.”
In January 2013, director Brad Bird posted a picture on his Twitter page related to the project. The image showed a frayed cardboard box labeled 1952, supposedly uncovered from the Walt Disney Imagineering developmental unit, and contained items like archival photographs of Walt Disney, Technicolor film, envelopes, a vinyl record, space technology literature, a 1928 copy of an Amazing Stories magazine (which introduced Philip Francis Nowlan’s Buck Rogers character), and an unidentified metal object.

The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical with book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone.[1] Best known for creating the animated comedy South Park, Parker and Stone co-created the music with Lopez, a co-composer/co-lyricist of Avenue Q. The Book of Mormon tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in northern Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naïve and optimistic, the two missionaries try to share the Book of Mormon, one of their scriptures—which only one of them has read—but have trouble connecting with the locals, who are more worried about war, famine, poverty and AIDS than about religion.
