BUFFALO, NY (November 4th, 2015) — Raíces Theatre Company will host its 2015 fundraiser, La Gran Fiesta, featuring En”Salsa”te, at 6 PM on Friday, Nov. 13th, at Pucho’s Social Club, 261 Swan St. in Buffalo. The evening will feature live entertainment from the Raíces ensemble, appetizers, DJ, cash bar, basket raffles and the evening’s main event, the En”Salsa”te salsa dance contest. Contestants will compete in front of four celebrity judges from the local dance community.
Proceeds from this event will go towards funding the 3rd season of the Raíces Theatre Company, which will include the production of Raíces’ first one-act festival, Desde El Puente, as well as The Happiest Song Plays Last by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes. Ticket prices are $25 general admission, $40 for non-dancing couples and $50 for dancing couples. The event starts at 6 PM on the evening of Friday, Nov. 13th.

Raíces Theatre Company is the premiere theater company serving the Latino and Hispanic community of Buffalo and Western New York. Its 2015-16 season opened with the Tony Award-winning musical In The Heights, produced in collaboration with MusicalFare. Other 2015-16 season productions will be presented at the Manny Fried Playhouse in the Great Arrow Building, 255 Great Arrow Ave. in Buffalo. In only its third full year, Raíces has already hosted visiting playwrights, including OBIE-Award winner Carmen Rivera and HOLA (Hispanic Organizaton of Latin Actors) award-winner Marco Antonio Rodriguez.
