North Tonawanda, NY – Project 308 Gallery is excited to announce a special 2-day Colored Pencils Workshop Series led by renowned artist Paulette Krakowski. Held at Project 308 Gallery located at 308 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, participants will delve into the world of colored pencil artistry under Krakowski’s expert guidance.
The workshop will cost $95 and will span two days, commencing on Tuesday, April 16th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and concluding on Thursday, April 18th, with the same time frame.
This comprehensive course is tailored for beginners seeking to grasp the fundamentals of colored pencil techniques. Attendees will learn the art of layering colors, various blending methods, and explore different substrates to enhance their creative process.
Workshop Highlights:
Part 1: Basics
In this segment, participants will gain valuable insights into the world of colored pencils. Krakowski will share her expertise on selecting the right pencils, paper, and tools, as well as practical tips on color mixing to achieve lifelike results. Attendees will learn to discern suitable colors and receive essential guidance to kickstart their journey in colored pencil artistry.
Part 2: Practice
The “Practice” section will feature demonstrations focused on applying colored pencils effectively. Krakowski will showcase shading techniques and blending methods, empowering participants to hone their skills and unleash their creativity in future projects.
All necessary supplies, including pencils and a variety of substrates, will be provided by the instructor, ensuring a diverse and enriching learning experience. Additionally, participants will be introduced to the innovative use of French Gray Pencils as an underpainting technique.
About the Instructor:
Paulette Krakowski is a distinguished artist with extensive experience in both watercolor and colored pencil mediums. She is a Juried artist from the Arts & Craftsmen Guild on the Roycroft campus, recognized for her exceptional talents in watercolor and colored pencil artistry. Krakowski not only showcases her skills as an artist but also shares her knowledge by teaching on the campus. Presently, she holds the esteemed position of Vice-President of the West Seneca Art Society. As an advocate for art education, Krakowski has been instrumental in teaching classes at the WS Library, supported by a $5,000 grant from AIS in Buffalo.
