Buffalo, NY: Parent Network of Western New York (WNY) is excited to announce a unique and inclusive event, a Silent Disco. This free special gathering aims to provide a safe, fun, and empowering experience for individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 7-25, allowing them to express themselves through the joy of dance and music.
Special Silent Disco
When: Friday, July 28, 2023, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Where: Villa Maria College Athletic Center, 240 Pine Ridge Road, Buffalo
Cost: FREE – Register at www.parentnetworkwny.org
This special event is a unique and innovative way of experiencing music and dance that allows participants to groove to the rhythm of their own beat. Each attendee will receive wireless headphones, providing them with the freedom to choose between different channels of music.
This technology ensures that the volume can be easily adjusted, accommodating the sensory needs and preferences of each individual. Attendees will have the freedom to dance and socialize with others in an environment that encourages self-expression and fosters a sense of community.
“We are extremely excited to organize this one-of-a-kind event,” said Kimberly Kadziolka, the Executive Director of Parent Network of WNY. “We have partnered with Mental Health Advocates of WNY, Duncan Kirkwood Consulting LLC, and The Vibe Alert to host the Silent Disco. We hope to foster a sense of belonging for individuals with developmental disabilities
and their families while promoting social connections and celebrating diversity within our community.”
