October / November 2016 Update
Buffalo is celebrating! Recently Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that an estimated 1.5 million people visited Canalside during the 2016 summer season.
There were many other successes this summer, including new events at Canalside
Canalside would like to thank WUFO 1080 AM, The Gospel Fest, The WBLK Buffalo Rib Fest, and the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York for selecting Canalside as a venue for their events in 2016.
A diverse Summer Concert Series and Music Programming
The summer concert season was an enjoyable mix of musical genres and performers including a focus on local acts. For example, on September 9, 2016, visitors enjoyed the smooth sounds of Taylor Made Jazz performing with the Foxy Diamondz Dance Company.
If you missed the fun, no worries. There are many more activities planned for the fall and winter seasons.
Canalside is hosting autumn and Halloween Activities throughout October.
Fright Nights at Canalside is occurring weekends through Halloween and features District of the Dead Haunted House, as well as afternoon “lights on” tours for children. Cost is $20 for the full nighttime haunted house and $7 for the afternoon “lights on” tour (including unlimited walkthroughs). One of the haunted houses featured is QUEEN CITY HORRORS, where visitors will experience a scary journey of Buffalo’s historical places.
Canalside has also partnered with Buffalo History Tours this year to offer Haunted History Ghost Walks and Haunted History Pub Crawls throughout October.
Sharpen your ice skates and get ready for another season on the Ice at Canalside, scheduled to open in late November (weather permitting)!
