(Buffalo, NY) The Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade of WNY and Panorama Hispano News is proud to announce its partnership with Watkins Glen International. Watkins Glen International was established on the streets of Watkins Glen, NY in 1948 and is North America’s premier racing facility. The Glen has a long and storied past from its Formula 1 roots to its position as New York’s only home to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Daniel Suarez, one of the top NASCAR drivers from Mexico was in Buffalo today to help us celebrate. Daniel Suarez has some roots right her in WNY and Buffalo was the first place Daniel lived when he first came to the United States . Mayor Byron Brown has declared July 12th the DANIEL SUAREZ Day. Thank you Mayor Brown and all the community leaders that attended today’s press conference. Earlier this year Jose Cervantes, Group Sales Manager at Watkins Glen International reached out to Fernando Garcia Martinez from Panorama Hispano News about WGI becoming involved in the Hispanic Community. Fernando Garcia Martinez reached out to Yolanda Martinez-Rodriguez, President of the PRHDP about the three, possibly meeting to discuss WGI becoming an active organization in our community. After a productive meeting, Fernando, Jose and Yolanda knew the parade would be a great fit for the race track giant.

In celebration of the partnership, on Wednesday, July 12th. Mayor Byron Brown held a press conference to welcome Watkins Glen International NASCAR racing legend, Daniel Suarez from Mexico. Joining us from WGI were Jose Cervantes, Andrew Smith, Senior Director of Marketing & Promotions, Chris Banker, Senior Manager of Public Relations, from NASCAR Donald Edwards, Daniel’s PR Manager, Judith Borges Martinez and Rafael C. Mencia representing Panorama Hispano News.
