GEICO hired more than 600 associates in Buffalo in 2020.
It wants to ramp that pace up this year.
The national car insurance company has about 3,100 employees in Western New York. Pre-pandemic, they worked out of two buildings at CrossPoint Parkway in Amherst, though the majority are now working from home.
Its local workforce has receded somewhat from the 3,250 number in early 2019, but its long-term growth plans remain intact, said Mindy Seibold, general manager of GEICO’s Buffalo regional office and the Marlton, New Jersey, claims office.
GEICO is looking to hire 350 employees in Buffalo in the first six months of this year, she said. The company has various local jobs listed in sales, customer service and management training.
