ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A Buffalo attorney and former adviser to Democrats Hillary Clinton and Andrew Cuomo has announced her candidacy for New York attorney general.
Leecia (LEE’-sha) Eve serves on the board of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and served in the Cuomo administration in a senior economic development position.
Before that the Harvard Law School graduate advised both Clinton and fellow Democrat Joe Biden when they were in the U.S. Senate.
In announcing her campaign Monday, Eve joins New York City Public Advocate Letitia James in the Democratic primary race to replace Democrat Eric Schneiderman, who resigned after he was accused of assaulting four women.
Corporate attorney Manny Alicandro is running as a Republican.
