Join us for a vibrant and lively event celebrating Hispanic culture! This day-to-night celebration marks the BPO’s annual collaborative observance of Hispanic Heritage Month with the Hispanic Heritage Council.
Local performers, food, and artist vendors will fill Kleinhans Music Hall with music, dance, art, and tasty treats in anticipation of the musical performance by Mexico’s queen of the mariachi art song, Aida Cuevas, at 7:30pm.
The following talented local music and dance groups will perform:
- 1:00pm: Amor and Heritage Dance, a nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of diversity, kindness, self-confidence, and multiculturalism through dance
- 1:30pm: Buffalo Tango Orkestra, performing Argentine Tango on the bandoneon (a type of accordion popular in Argentina and Uruguay), violins, cello, piano, double bass, and guitar, with singers
- 2:00pm: La Marimba de Buffalo, a musical group offering an original take on traditional music of Mexico and Central America performed on the marimba, with lilting tunes, danceable grooves, and improvisation
- 2:30pm: Buffalo Choro, a local musician collective led by guitarist Stephen Guerra educating and performing Brazilian Choro music
- 3:00pm: El Batey Puerto Rican Center, whose mission is to celebrate, inspire, and connect children to their culture and each other, so that together they can reimagine and reshape their future

- Sabor Criollo y más (Puerto Rican cuisine)
- Tangos 716 (Argentinian cuisine)
Buffalo-based artists and vendors joining in the festivities include:
- Anaidelis Makes Crochet & Jewelry, showing handmade crocheted and beaded items
- Angeleev, offering art prints, stickers, postcards, crochet, t-shirts and tote bags
- Artesanía Boricua Familiar, offering jewelry, art on wood, and various handcrafted wooden pieces
- El Buen Amigo & Latin American Cultural Association, Inc., a nonprofit offering fair trade arts, crafts, clothing, and jewelry directly from artisans and farmers in Latin America
- Fidelis Care, providing information on free or low-cost health insurance options
- Los Artistas del Barrio, a Latino/a/x arts collective representing various local artists with original art, prints, and artisanal jewelry
- Multinational Illumination Art, presenting traditional Puerto Rican Vejigante masks carved from coconuts, converted into lamps
- Royalty Nails, offering beauty products and services including body cream, candles, aroma oils, hand massages and nail services
- US Citizenship and Immigration Services, providing free information on immigration benefit and citizenship programs
