For three decades, Citizen Action of Western New York has been organizing the grassroots for significant social change. Some of the organization’s accomplishments include:
winning a progressive new Code of Conduct for the Buffalo Public Schools to help break the school to prison pipeline and effectively implement that policy throughout the Buffalo Public Schools
consistently winning more funding for Buffalo Public Schools by rallying and advocating for Buffalo at actions at the Capitol in Albany
pressing for a new attendance policy, working with the Buffalo Public Schools and other partners to keep students safe and in school
being a part of the coalition locally and across the state to win a $15 minimum wage for fast-food workers
