The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series 80’s Night is this Thursday, August 24, in Memorial Park. Sponsored by platinum sponsors DFT Communications and Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 1980 Something begins at 5:25 p.m. followed by headliner E5C4P3 – The Journey Tribute tarting at 6:45 p.m.
The V.I.P. sponsors are Chautauqua Opportunities – Fatherhood Program and Chautauqua Leadership Network celebrating their 30 years in Chautauqua County. They will have free drink koozies to hand out there and at the city’s beverage tent.
The stage sponsor is National Grid along with Advanced Production Group as the production company.
The opening band, 1980 Something, is based out of Buffalo and takes you back to the 80’s rock era playing all of your 80’s rock favorites where it’s always “1980 Something.”
The band consists of Ed Schubauer on lead vocals, Johnny Roxx on guitar, Jeff Maunus on bass and Ron Rocco on drums.
E5C4P3 – The Journey Tribute was formed in June of 1993. For the past 30 years they have paid tribute to one of rock history’s most beloved bands performing for hundreds of thousands of fans.
E5C4P3 is still known today as the original and best Journey tribute band to ever exist. The band covers the music with a note-for-note accuracy that is second to none and performs each show with the high-energy excitement of a real Journey concert as well as visually recreating the essence of early 80’s Journey!
Focusing on the Steve Perry era, E5C4P3 covers all the hits from “Lights” and “Wheel In The Sky” to “Separate Ways” and “Be Good To Yourself’ including occasional surprises for all the die-hard Journey fans.
Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the beverage tent provided by Arthur R Gren Company and Southern Tier Brewing Company. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace will also be open.
The rained-out July 6 show is rescheduled with Sean Patrick McGraw on Thursday, August 31 from 5:25 to 8:45 p.m.
