31-year-old man fatally shot in Buffalo hotel room

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A man was fatally shot early Saturday in a hotel room in downtown Buffalo, New York, police said.

Buffalo police said the 31-year-old was shot around 4 a.m. “during some of gathering” on an upper floor of the Embassy Suites hotel, located a few blocks east of the Lake Erie waterfront.

The man was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The man’s name has not been made public.

Police said they are investigating reports that the gathering was been one of several parties going on in rooms at the hotel early Saturday.

A message seeking comment was sent to hotel management.
