Back To School Bash Set in Dunkirk

The City of Dunkirk, Dunkirk City School District and United Way of Northern Chautauqua County are proud to announce this year’s Back To School Bash on Monday, August 28 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the lower pavilion in Point Gratiot Park.The free “whatever it takes” district tagline community event for Dunkirk city school children and families is sponsored by DFT Communications, Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Sodexo. The event is coordinated by Ryan Hall, Dunkirk Festivals Coordinator; Jennifer Westerholt, Director of Communication and Community Relations at the Dunkirk City School District and Eileen Ardillo, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation Grants Coordinator.Book bags, donated by The Teacher’s Desk, loaded with school supplies, hygiene products and incentives for students will be given to the first 500 children registered that afternoon starting at 4 p.m.  No pre-registration is required.Several local community agencies with giveaways and other information will be located under a tent provided by Piede Brothers.  If you would like to be a community partner, please contact Eileen Ardillo at Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation at (716) 366-4892.   “We’re excited to welcome the Dunkirk students back for another year of fun and learning,” said Ryan Hall, Dunkirk Festivals Coordinator.  “This annual event provides an opportunity for kids to connect with others at our beautiful Point Gratiot Park while preparing for the school start.”
Giulia Sowrey of Star Sirch will provide deejay entertainment along with a bounce house donated by Party with Us Event Rentals.  A balloon twisting clown will also be present.

 Complimentary hot dogs, ice cream donated from Wells, refreshments from Refresco and snacks will be served.  A rain date make up is scheduled the following day, August 29.For more information about the event, contact Ryan Hall at City of Dunkirk at
